VRHD - Summer Phase The lighter, mask-like pigmentation across the labial, nasal and frontal scales is typical on Summer phase VRHD. Normal deppei do not exhibit this feature. Winter phase VRHD have it as well but the overall light color of the animals makes the mask much less obvious. As with the Winter Phase, we see splashes of red pigment in the primary dorsal blotches. A dedicated breeder could have an interesting time with this phenomena.
