VRHD - Summer Phase
A VRHD example where the pattern is in
the process of "evaporating." You can pretty
accurately ascertain which juveniles are going to
progress this way by observing how substantial the
pattern element is after the first two or three sheds.
!00% patternless would be interesting and it won't
take breeders long to capitalize on this trait. VRHD
are notoriously difficult to photograph with color
tone accuracy. Spot metering is an obvious requirement
but even so, the high contrast, subject to background
photos we desire make metering tricky. The snakes
themselves are ridiculously bright in life (especially
in natural light) and I have to fight the constant
temptation to tone them down out of a vague sense of
embarrassment.
