VRHD - Winter Phase
Adult. Any
conversation about hypomelanistic reptiles will
quickly bog down in a viscous sea of semantics. This
particular winter phase, besides being a dazzling
white, has a reduction in melanin along with a
reduction in coverage by the melanin that is present.
The VRHD produce a surprising range of body types even
though food amounts are consistent. Body types range
from stout, heavy set individuals to willowy, gracile
creatures like the one above. Some individuals of both
Winter and Summer camps have pattern elements that
sometimes seem to "evaporate" with age. |
