EarthTone Variable Kingsnake Adult female "leonis phase." This female (ID# lmt253) was from the first clutch of Variable Kingsnakes produced at VR. This snakes mother had a dark, slate gray and maroon milk snake phase and her father was a yellowish leonis phase owned by John Ruiz and Lloyd Lemke. These animals were not far removed from the wild and produced extraordinarily variable offspring. These snakes also tended to be large mexicana. This female once produced a clutch of 22 eggs and rountinely laid clutches of 18 or more eggs. Lmt253 also marked the beginning of the Vivid quest to produce an orange on orange Variable Kingsnake. |
