River Road Alterna Juvenile. Speckling can be surprisingly variable on River Road alterna. This animal's speckles increase in size as one moves from head to tail. The speckles on this interesting alterna resolve into a thin vertebral line on the lower third of the body and then coalesce into a relatively thick dorsal stripe on the tail. Alterna with a total absence of orange are relatively uncommon on the River Road. |
