Durango Mountain Pine Snake Adult. This photograph shows how narrow or "bullet" headed this subspecies can be. P.d.jani tend to have noticeably flatter and wider heads. This species is noted for the different patina colors that overlay the normally dark pigment of the body blotches - the patina in this case being a tan/gold. |
