Brief Description:
Full disclosure: although a knoblochi such as
the one on the cover does have a standout scene/roll,
alas, the novel is not about knoblochi. The
story revolves around an unassuming and rather
unfortunate biologist who manages to fall down a rabbit
hole inhabited by the charismatic Ben
Peelsa, a man whose preternatural charm and influence is
exceeded only by the murkiness of his intentions. As the
more bizarre elements of the story begin to unfold, our
biologist protagonist begins realize that Mr. Peelsa is
very much more than he seems. His loyalties become torn
as Peelsa gradually reveals an agenda of ever
increasing strangeness. An agenda that he apparently has
the power to make into reality.
Mostly
strait fiction though some sci fi elements do enter
the story line. Fun read.
Finished writing this novel and filing with the
Library of Congress the summer of 9/11. When 9/11
struck I was afraid the FBI was going to turn up on my
doorstep due to some of the content being striking
eerily close to home. In great haste I rewrote the New
York scenes with a vaguely guilty conscience.
