Female Cosala
Sinaloan Milk Snake
$150
Large Juvenile
Length: 20 inches
Diet:
thawed peach fuzzies
This young female Sinaloan Milk Snake embodies all the
characteristics that make the Cosala locality snakes so
unusual and instantly recognizable. Sinaloan and
Nelson's Milk Snakes have been indiscriminately crossed
over the last 35 years making obtaining pure examples a
tricky business. These milk snakes are, however, very
different animals phenotypically. The available animal
is a text book Cosala with its white snout, tremendously
wide red rings and very abbreviated black banding that
terminates abruptly on the sides.
The area around the Cosala Rd. is a naturalist's
paradise for reptiles
and birds. Double Yellow-headed Parrots and Magpie Jays
play along the fence lines while pink boa constrictors
and Indigo snakes begin crossing the roads as the
afternoon wanes. The sight of a 4 ft Sinaloan crossing
the road in your headlights is a sight never to be
forgotten. It is unlikely that these wonderful snakes
will enter the USA any time soon because of the very
real dangers of the Sinaloa Cartel. It was dangerous
place back in the day - now it's near suicide.
