Sub-adult female. Solomon Isand Ground Boa. Long term captive. The term "chamelion boa" is well deserved as these boas seem to be able to change color at will as they reach maturity. Color can develop well into maturity. These boas can breed at surprising small sizes. The gracile, dainty heads of these boas have no equal - looking like a cross between Willey Coyote and some small viper. The island from which these boas were collected produces boas with heavy speckling of oxblood red - no matter what the dorsal coloration.
